120 Drums of Thunder in Alaska - August 2003

In August 2003, 18 Native American leaders from across North America came to Homer and Tyonek to lead the people in drumming for restoration of relationships between the Native peoples of the land and the non-native residents.  One hundred twenty hand-drums were distributed to the people to worship the Creator.  Bridges were built between the many different peoples of Alaska through protocol, gifting, and honoring chiefs, leaders, and elders of the tribes of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet.  A heartfelt public apology was given to the Native people by the non-native people, and many accepted with forgiveness given.  Reconciliation and relationship building was begun and we are all so grateful for the many friendships which have grown from it!
