Our Caribbean Cruise - February 6-13, 2005
This was our first cruise, and actually our first vacation alone together, after 25 years of marriage! We have never taken a "real" vacation, where the goal was to just HAVE FUN. Our motto for the week was "We are brave!" The goal was to be brave and try new things. We went places that we had never been, did things that we have never done, and ate things that we had never tasted! (Frog legs, pheasant, lobster bisque, swordfish, cold soups, etc.)
After living in Alaska for 21 years, we wanted to go to someplace tropical, but had no idea where. We looked around on the Internet and selected St. Lucia and Antigua as two places that we really wanted to see. We selected this cruise because it went to these two ports in particular and we were able to get discounted tickets through Vacations To Go.
We flew to San Juan, Puerto Rico, arriving Friday evening, February 4th. We spent two days enjoying Puerto Rico and getting acclimated, then boarded the ship late Sunday afternoon. The first day was our only day at sea, followed by five days in a different port each day, sailing at night. Click on the links below to read about our experiences and see photos.
