Backpacker's Gear List


Hiking boots: sturdy, broken in, absolutely no hiking in tennis shoes
Thermal Underwear Top
Thermal Underwear Bottoms

Shirt: shortsleeve t-shirt coolest; longsleeve keeps bugs off
Nylon Pants and shorts or zip-off legs
synthetic or wool blend Socks: One- three pair

Rain Jacket and Rain Pants: Dependable and light

Foam Sleeping Pad or Therm-a-rest type pad (No air Mattresses!)
First Aid Kit ñ Small & Basic
Band-Aid gel strips, Moleskin,Second Skin

Carbs: noodles, spaghetti

dried hash browns

Meal mixes:
chili
potato/ brocoli-cheese soup(add canned clams or shrimp, salami)
scalloped or au-gratin potatoes
(add salami, cabbage, grn pepper, dried veggies)
Jambalaya( add salami, shrimp)
Stuffing (add canned corn, celery, grn. pepper)
Noodles w/ chicken or strogganoff sauce mix
