I have made Alaska my home since 1988, and my husband since 1989. In 1994 we married and made it "our" home. In 1997 we bought the view of the river in the North Pole area you see above and built a home. Moving here was a big challenge in many ways yet it has been the best move we ever made.

s Probably the hardest part for anyone to get used to is the weather.

We have personally seen it -67 (Jan 1989) at which time the thermometer mercury seperated so it may have been colder. Summers are most of the time very nice but can be often rainy and cool. Fall starts in September and is over within weeks, sooner if we get alot of wind. Winters, although they can be very cold at times, have a magical beauty all their own. Because we have low humidity and almost no winds in the winter our low temps aren't as unbareable as some other states that suffer from severe wind chills. Some years we get alot of rain and snow and sometimes we get hardly any. This year 2003 has been unusually dry for both and the last couple years we have had very little snow in the winter and almost pleasant temperatures.
Come back often and check our weather bar and you can see just how warm or cold it can get.

s We enjoy outdoor activities, nature and the beauty of this great state so alot of this site is pictures of alot of what we like to see and do. There is also going to be alot of family pictures that we put in here so our out of state family can see us and what we are doing. We hope that there will always be something of interest for you to see and since we hope to add things often we hope that you will check back often and see whats new.
