Gregg M. Olson's Home Page

Welcome to my Web site and thanks for visiting. After months of working on getting these pages off the ground, I am finally getting to it. Of course, they will be continuously under construction. With these pages I hope to offer links to some of the areas that I find interesting. As time goes by I may include more sections. But first, I must fill in the sections that are still empty.

First a bit about myself. I have lived in Alaska for about 30 years. Over the years I have lived throughout the state. Communities where I have lived include Anchorage, Petersburg, Fairbanks, Nome, Ketchikan, Bethel, Soldotna, Kodiak, and now Barrow. October 7, 1999 marked 7 years of living in Barrow. Barrow is the northernmost community in the United States and living there completed a major part of my Alaskan adventure. On October 20, 1999 I moved back to Bethel.  Having lived most of my life in Alaska, I have grown up enjoying the outdoors and the lifestyle that living in this State offers.

In July '98, I picked up Elmer.  He was about 11 months old when I got him.  He spent three months away from the cold weather attending retriever training at Conway Kennels in Washington state.  I brought Elmer home in March.  They did a great job training him.  He went down knowing nothing and quite undisciplined and came back a somewhat more disciplined and much calmer.  I finally got to hunt him last fall down in Wrangell.  He was a retrieving fool!  He did a great job finding the birds.  Now I just need to work on his hold and blind retrieves.

On April 7, 2001 Betty Tsai and I got married.  Betty is originally from Taiwan but has lived in Chicago for the last 20 years.  She is a nurse.  We had been seeing each other, long distance, for several years.

On July 21, 2001, Alexander Morris Olson was born.  This is how he looked shortly after his birth.  Betty and Alex moved up to Bethel in October.  Betty is working at the hospital here and doing her best to put up with me and the bush.

After 5 years in Bethel (3 years for Betty and Alex) we moved to Sitka where I am working at the District Attorney's Office.  Betty just recently began working at the local hospital.  We purchased a home; older but livable.  I will post some more pictures of Alex, our house, and Sitka in the near future.
