We believe in a hands on approach and we trade that idea for higher production and automation type building methods. Roundwood builds homes one at a time. This affords total commitment to whomever acquires our services.
No shortcuts are taken. Our building contracts are simple and spell out exactly what is included in our package. Wow, what an amazing place! This is what all of our guests say after seeing our house for the first, second, and third times. Cars stop in the middle of the street and hold up traffic, take pictures, and often come up for a closer look, as the 5,000+ SF custom, hand scribed cedar log home that Tom Blackburn and the Roundwood crew custom built for our family is one in a million. The attention to detail, quality of the logs, design & input throughout the building process was phenomenal. There is a lot that goes into building a custom log home, and Roundwood made the process easier, more understandable, and extremely rewarding.
The Alaska contingent of builders, led by master carpenter Greg Booth, were extremely professional, reliable, committed, and the end product was one that we are VERY proud of. We have given over 30 tours of our house to friends and strangers that were interested in building a custom log home in Alaska, and all were very impressed. We love to give tours of the house, as we are very proud of it and the work and quality craftsmanship throughout, with numerous people we gave tours to actually building a Roundwood log home. I work in the real estate field and see many custom homes, and without a doubt, Roundwood Log Homes and Alaskan crew have made some of the best quality, most appealing homes in Alaska, with many featured in local magazines.
