The Arctic Winter Parkas are made essentially the same way that the arctic kuspuks are made minus the skirt. The materials we use are corduroy, velveeteen, poplin, cotton-back German velvet, suede with non-stretching backing, and cut velvet. HINT: We strongly recommend cotton-backed German velvet for its beauty, shimmer, durability, non-stretchiness, and ease of care. Dry Cleaning Only is recommended.
The inner shell consists of 12-18 ounce Jencelite, depending on your personal needs and preferences. These parkas have three pocket styles: Eskimo pockets; half-Eskimo pockets or side-slit pockets. The parkas have a fur ruff. The type of furs we recommend are beaver-wolf; sheared beaver-wolverine; silver tipped black fox; white fox; and otter. The ruffs are handcut and sewn attached to either a fold-back hood or an Eskimo hood style. The full length of the parka extends to use past the hips. The parkas feature a metal two-way zipper for ease of movement and removal.
All parkas are custom fitted and sized. Each one is unique.
